In original card slipcase with photographic title label affixed to front panel, slightly toned to edges. *** First published in the magazine Mademoiselle in 1956 and reprinted in Breakfast at Tiffany’s: A Short Novel and Three Short Stories in 1958. This is the first stand-alone publication of this much anthologized story. Copyright page has the publication date as 1956, but apparently it was published ten years later, in 1966. Presumed first edition/fourth impression, with the number line ending in “4”: “B987654”. Not to be confused with the stated ‘second printing’, which has beige paper boards and a blue cloth spine.
