Paperback original. 174pp. Minor wear to covers; shallow crease to leading corner of upper cover. *** Controversial publication by sci-fi writer Sam Delany, his first foray into explicitly sexual material. Published originally in the US by Lancer Books in 1973 and long out of print when Savoy Books published it in 1980. Most copies of the UK edition were confiscated and destroyed and the publisher (David Britton) was sent to prison partly as a result of publishing Delany’s book. The Tides of Lust was to be the first in a series of over-the-edge fantasy erotica, but no further books were published. Savoy Books Ltd went into liquidation in 1981.
