Foxing to reverse. *** Ed van der Elsken’s classic photo book; a fictional love story in photographs and occasional text (in English). It’s basically a photo-documentary of Paris nightlife (the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighbourhood), sequenced as a love story. Original a the time and still a fantastic document of hipster Paris in the mid-1950s.
