He was a prolific and versatile author, probably best-known for his political thriller Jig and the follow-ups featuring British counter-terrorism agent Frank Pagan. He also wrote a couple of novelizations (Raiders of the Lost Ark and Dressed to Kill). Death’s Head belongs to the early, literary phase of his career.
