Large 8vo. Pictorial black boards. Issued without dust jacket. Copiously illustrated throughout. Third edition (2007): revised and enlarged by the author and edited by Harold Geisler and Jonas Pabst. *** Swiss designer and artist Karl Gerstner (1930-2017) had a significant influence on typography and the history and development of postwar graphic design. Designing Programmes is one of his most important and influential works. It was first published in 1964 and reprinted in 1968. Our copy is the reissue (by Lars Müller Publishers) from 2007 – in a new design and revised and enlarged by the author. All three editions are now rare (the first almost completely unavailable). Not to be confused with the more common 2018 reissue (also by Lars Müller Publishers) of the book.
