Metropolis

Small 8vo. N.d. [ca 1927]. Original decorated maroon boards, front and spine panels stamped in gold. First edition in English. First impression, without mention of this title in the list of Readers Library books on preliminary pages. First printing dust jacket that does not list METROPOLIS on the rear flap. Boards near fine, sl. edgewear and discoloration to head of spine. Leaves tanned. Binding tight and unbroken with exception pages 226-227 where gathering is slightly loose (without loss of leaves). f.f.e. (with FOREWORD) on verso is detached at tail. A few nicks to fore-edge text block pp.105-118. Dust cover has a tear across front panel and along front fold (still attached, but fragile). About 1cm missing at both ends of spine and corner of front panel. Some further nicks to rear panel with some minor loss. Please, see photographs. More pictures available on request.
