Translated by Xan Fielding. First American edition. 224pp. Hardback in dust jacket. Publisher’s half cloth boards with titles to spine. Red top-stain. Board edges a little faded. Slight foxing to edges of text block. Light stain to leading corner of front paste-down. Jacket toned and a little foxed; light brown (water?) stain along tail, very faint to front. A very good copy of the first US printing of this classic adventure novel, the basis for David Lean’s film from 1957. Preceded by the UK edition which was published under the title The Bridge On the River Kwai.
