The Studio
£25.00
Publisher’s original boards with lettering to spine and blind-stamped author’s initials to upper board. Red top stain and board edges faded. Minor foxing to fore-edge of text block. In very good typographic dust jacket with author’s photograph to rear. Some general shelf wear and visible rubbing to spine area. First printing. *** John Gregory Dunne was an American writer and journalist, married to Joan Didion with whom he often collaborated. In The Studio he describes a year at film studio Twentieth Century Fox, from May 1967 to May 1968. He’s a fly on the wall in boardrooms, at casting sessions; he follows agents, executives, screen writers etc. The Studio is a great inside account of “the state of mind in Hollywood” in the late 1960s.
