Green cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Green top stain faded. A strip of foxing to edges of rear paste-down. Otherwise fine. In near fine, very slightly rubbed dust jacket. A completely redesigned edition of James Joyce’s masterpiece. First thus. *** The Bodley Head first published Ulysses in the UK in 1937. (It had originally been published in Paris by Shakespeare and Company in 1922.) For this new edition they re-set the entire text (adding about 200 pages). An appendix shows corresponding pages in old and new edition. This new edition is now widely considered the standard text of Ulysses.
