Hoffman, Abbie

£75.00

1st Edition
Hardcover

Black cloth boards with debossed fist icon to upper board and gilt lettering to spine. Some staining to pp.3-8. Otherwise clean and unmarked. In unclipped dust jacket with original price of $5.95 to upper flap (and “Steal this book” to lower panel). Rubbed to spine ends with a tiny bit of loss to head. A few tears and chips to head with minor tape repair to reverse. Stated first printing. *** A near fine first edition of this classic revolutionary text written during the Woodstock festival. The book is printed on multi-coloured paper, in blue, red and black ink, with different fonts, many photographs and illustrations. It’s a true masterpiece of psychedelic and revolutionary art and an important document for understanding the background of the widely publicized trial of the Chicago Seven. (The subject of the recent Netflix film The Trial of the Chicago 7.)
